Esta comunicación trata la problemática generada por el flujo migratorio en las primeras décadas del siglo XX desde Canarias a Cuba desde un punto de vista de género. Pretende dar un paso más allá en cuanto a los estudios sobre historia de la inmigración, y profundizar sobre realidad de aquellas mujeres que quedaron a la espera de los hombres que salieron de Canarias en busca de una mejor vida, pero que nunca regresaron. También, para completar la investigación se intentan analizar las causas del no retorno de los emigrantes
This communication addresses the problems generated by migratory flows in the first decades of the twentieth century from the Canary Islands to Cuba from the point of view of gender . It aims to take a step further in terms of studies on history of immigration , and to deepen reality of those women who were waiting for the men who left the Canary Islands in search of a better life , but never returned . Also, to complete the research attempt to analyze the causes of non-return of migrants.
