Esta comunicación trata acerca de la emigración de mujeres canarias a Cuba en el siglo XX y cómo estas afrontaron la nueva situación que se les presentaba. Se analizan las diferentes causas de sus viajes y las labores que tuvieron que asumir en las diferentes etapas de sus vidas, cómo vivieron y crearon familias, en un país donde la principal actividad era el cultivo de la caña de azúcar, secundada por la siembra del tabaco; el tema se aborda, fundamentalmente, a través de sus historias de vida, que dejaron una huella imborrable.

This communication has to do with Canarian women about emigration to Cuba in the XX century and how these faced the new situation that turned up to them. They analyze the different causes of hers journeys and chores that they had to assume in the different stages of hers life, how they lived and made families, at a country where principal activity was the cultivation of sugar cane, backed up by the planting of tobacco; The theme is discussed, fundamentally, through hers stories of life, that let a unerasable footprint.
