La investigación que se presenta a continuación pretende una re-lectura del paisaje de Canarias desde un punto de vista distinto al habitual. Este trabajo busca la reactivación de ruinas modernas y lugares abandonados y, por tanto, una reflexión sobre el patrimonio contemporáneo de las islas y nuevas alternativas al turismo convencional. Para responder a estos objetivos se propone la idea del anti-monumento, referida a aquellos espacios olvidados y en descomposición debido a su pérdida de funcionalidad. Al poner en evidencia estos paisajes en ruinas y lugares abandonados, se trata de rescatar y revalorizar estos espacios vacíos como elementos de identidad de nuestro territorio.
The research presented below tries to see the landscape of the Canary Islands from a different point of view. This work seeks to reactivate modern ruins and abandoned places and therefore, to reflect on the islands contemporary heritage and new alternatives to conventional tourism. To meet these objectives it is proposed the idea of the anti-monument. Anti-monuments are derelict and forgotten sites that become obsolete due to its dysfunctionality over time. By the exposure given to these ruins and abandoned places, there’s the will to rescue and value these empty spaces as elements of identity of the Canarian landscape.
