Propuesta de itinerario turístico en Tenerife a partir del viaje de Humboldt en 1799 desde el Puerto de la Cruz al Teide / Humboldt’s tourism itinerary (1799) in Tenerife from Puerto de la Cruz to Teide

El 19 de Junio de 1799 el naturalista alemán Alexander von Humboldt hace una parada en Tenerife con el objeto de realizar el ascenso al volcán Teide. Dado la importancia de la literatura de viajes en el turismo de experiencias, esta comunicación tiene como objetivo identificar y localizar las paradas que hizo el naturalista, analizar los atractivos turísticos de las mismas y a partir de ellas proponer un itinerario turístico. Para alcanzar el objetivo se ha hecho un estudio detallado del viaje y se han visitado los hitos que se mencionan en la descripción del viajero. El recorrido tiene una longitud de 30 km, un desnivel de 3718 metros y 18 paradas. A partir de la reconstrucción del itinerario las actividades turísticas propuestas están asociadas con la naturaleza (relieve, clima, aguas, vegetación y fauna) y con el turismo cultural (urbano-rural).
On 19 June 1799 the german naturalist Alexander von Humboldt stopped in Tenerife, with the aim of climbing El Teide volcano. Due to the importance of travel literature in experience tourism, this research aims as analysing their touristic allure. To reach this result, a detailed study of the journey has been made through fieldwork. The route itself is 30 km long in a 3,718-metre slope with eighteen halts. Considering the reconstruction of Humboldt’s itinerary, the touristic activities associated with natural tourism (relief, climate, water, vegetation and wildlife) and cultural (urban-rural).
