Resumen

Las luminarias y los fuegos de artificio formaron parte imprescindible de las fiestas y celebraciones en Canarias durante toda la Edad Moderna. Realizamos una aproximación al estudio de esta manifestación artística o artesanal, aportando los nombres de algunos de los maestros «fogueteros» que ejercieron su labor en la isla de Gran Canaria durante los siglos XVII y XVIII.  Centraremos nuestra atención de manera especial en la parroquia de Ntra. Sra. del Pino de Teror (Gran Canaria), basándonos en los datos proporcionados por los libros de fábrica y mayordomía del templo y en las fuentes literarias o relaciones festivas.

Bonfires and fireworks were an essential part of the festivities and celebrations in the Canary Island throughout the Modern Age. We made an approach to the study of this artistic or artisanal manifestation, providing the names of some of the "fogueteros" masters who worked on the island of Gran Canaria during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. We will pay special attention to the parish of Ntra. Sra. del Pino in Teror (Gran Canaria), based on the data provided by the factory and temple stewardship books and the literary sources or festive relationships.
