Resumen

Alonso Quesada desarrolló una labor literaria que le ha hecho llegar a nuestros tiempos como uno de los poetas modernistas de la tríada canaria, pero pocos saben que su obra y su figura influenció a muchísimos artistas. Esta ponencia pondrá de relieve la fascinación que demostró Pepe Dámaso ante La Umbría de Quesada, un drama de tuberculosos que simbolizan una clase que se va extinguiendo. El artista filma una película basada en sus palabras, a la vez que realiza una serie pictográfica con las ojivas y las calaveras que representan la casa solariega situada en el Valle de Agaete.

Alonso Quesada has done a literature work than has sent him to our times like a poetry the modernism in Canary Island, but there are few people who know that his work and his personality had influence in many artists. This presentation highlight the fascination that Pepe Dámaso had whith La Umbría of Quesada, a drama of tuberculosis sufferer what they symbolize a class ancestry that is going extinct. The artist create a film based in his words, at the same time, made a series of paintings with warheads and skulls which represent the manor house situated in the valley of Agaete.
