Algunas notas sobre la contabilidad de la Heredad de Aguas de Arucas y Firgas / Some notes on the accounting of the Arucas and Firgas Water Demesne
Resumen
El agua ha sido y sigue siendo un bien imprescindible para todos y las heredades de agua son instituciones clave en el repartimiento de las aguas. Existen trabajos con enfoques diversos y basados en diferentes fuentes primarias y secundarias.
El presente trabajo trata de poner de manifiesto la importancia de la Heredad de Aguas de Arucas y Firgas y de la riqueza de su patrimonio documental, sobre todo la documentación contable que guarda su archivo. Por ello, los registros contables constituirán la principal fuente primaria para analizar e interpretar los datos más antiguos que custodia la Heredad y nos revelarán las actividades que desarrolló y como se interactuó con el entorno físico y social. El estudio que se presenta es la primera muestra para emprender la historia de esta Heredad a través de la vía privilegiada de la contabilidad.
Water has been and continues to be an essential asset for all and the water demesnes are key institutions for the distribution of water. There are works addressed from different perspectives and based on primary and secondary sources.
The present work tries to show the importance of the Arucas and Firgas Water Demesne and the richness of its documentary heritage, especially the accounting documentation kept by its archive. Therefore, the accounting records will be the main primary source for analyzing and interpreting the oldest data held by the Demesne and they will reveal to us the activities that they developed and how it interacted with the physical and social environment. The study presented is the first sample to elaborate the history of this Demesne through the privileged path of accounting.
