El colonialismo en América y su fracaso en China como encrucijada histórica de la globalización ibérica / The colonialism in America and its failure in China as the historical crossroads of Iberian globalization

Resumen

La presente colaboración enmarca las aristas que vivió el mundo a finales del siglo XV durante la llamada conquista y que, se definió como la «primera globalización», un proceso en el que la historia del mundo ha ido unificándose. El texto busca, a través de distintos ángulos de análisis observar, por un lado, las colectividades socio-políticas implicadas y, por otro, profundiza acerca de cada uno de los actores individuales. De esta forma desconstruye un relato lineal de vencedores/vencidos que no observa acciones paralelas en un periodo en el que el capitalismo emerge como nuevo sistema económico y civilizatorio. Se muestra que la conquista y la colonización ibérica son parte de la «desmesura europea» de la época que impuso explotación y acumulación de riquezas, estructurando nuevas redes comerciales entre Europa, América y Asia que dan paso al «sistema mundo» capitalista moderno.

The present collaboration frames the edges that the world lived at the end of the 15th century during the so-called conquest and that, was defined as the «first globalization», a process in which the history of the world has been unifying. The text seeks, through different angles of analysis, to observe, on the one hand, the socio-political collectivities involved and, on the other hand, it delves into each of the individual actors. In this way it deconstructs a linear story of winners/beaters that does not observe parallel actions in a period where capitalism emerges as a new economic and civilizing system. It shows that the Iberian conquest and colonization are part of the «European excess» of the period that imposed exploitation and accumulation of wealth, structuring new commercial networks between Europe, America and Asia that give way to the modern capitalist «world system».
