Resumen
El comienzo de las investigaciones arqueoastronómicas en Gran Canaria puede remontarse a las investigaciones que realicé en 1985 en la montaña de Cuatro Puertas. 35 años después, retomo la interpretación del signo del almogarén situado en la cima de la montaña y planteo una hipótesis novedosa que integra los ciclos del sol, la luna y la estrella Sirio. Esta hipótesis puede utilizarse para estimar que el signo se trazó a comienzos del siglo XI DC.
The beginning of the archaeoastronomical researches in Gran Canaria can be traced back to the works that I carried out in 1985 in the mountain of Cuatro Puertas. 35 years later, I resume the interpretation of the sign of the almogarén located on the top of the mountain and propose a novel hypothesis that integrates the cycles of the sun, the moon, and the star Sirius. This hypothesis can be used to estimate that the sign was drawn in the early 11th century AD.
