Resumen
La presente comunicación tiene como objetivo principal analizar las relaciones teóricas y prácticas que se establecen entre el libro de Franz Roh, Realismo mágico (post expresionismo), y la Escuela Luján Pérez y que desembocó en un regionalismo vanguardista en el ámbito de Canarias. Aunque los mismos artistas y muchos intelectuales de la época, como veremos, reconocieron la relación con los planteamientos estéticos expuestos en el libro de Roh, y aunque muchos investigadores lo mencionan en sus investigaciones sobre la Escuela y el arte canario del período de entreguerras, como señala Sánchez Robayna, aún no se ha hecho un estudio detallado de las conexiones que vincularon el mencionado ensayo con los artistas de la entidad grancanaria.
The main objective of this communication is to analyze the theoretical and practical relationships that are established between Franz Roh’s book, Magical Realism (post-expressionism), and the Luján Pérez School, which led to an avant-garde regionalism in the Canary Islands. Although the same artists and many intellectuals of the time, as we will see, recognized the relationship with the aesthetic approaches exposed in Roh’s book, and although many researchers mention it in their research on the School and Canarian art of the interwar period, As Sánchez Robayna points out, a detailed study of the connections that linked the aforementioned essay with the artists of the Gran Canaria entity has not yet been made.
