The present communication aims to analyze two different models of feminism at the beginning of the 20th century, through the study of the friendship relationship between two women who achieved recognition in their historical work: the American mathematician and Americanist Alice B. Gould (Boston, 1888-Simancas, 1953) and the Colombian medievalist Mercedes Gaibrois Riaño. (Paris, 1891-Madrid, 1960). Using as a historical source the letters they produced from 1920 to 1947, we will analyze the two sociocultural models that both represent and that converge on the same objective: the intellectual vindication of women and the struggle for their presence in public space.
