Resumen

Esta comunicación tiene como objeto exponer la relación de propiedades que tuvo la familia de don Benito Pérez Galdós en la isla de Gran Canaria, entre los siglos XIX y primer tercio del XX y su participación en el proceso de captación de aguas subterráneas, que si bien se inicia a raíz de la conquista alcanza su apogeo en el siglo XX. Analizaremos las formas de adquisición de esos bienes y los distintos conflictos y litigios tanto ruidosos como silenciosos en los que estuvieron inmersos, así como los municipios donde se ubicaban dichas pertenencias.

The purpose of this communication is to expose the relationship of properties that the family of Don Benito Pérez Galdós had in Gran Canaria, between the 19th and the first third of the 20th century and its participation in the process of collecting groundwater that begins as a result of the conquest (it reaches its peak in the 20th century). We will analyse how they got these goods and the different conflicts and disputes in which they were involved as well as we will examine the municipalities where these belongings were located.
