Resumen

Las islas, el espacio y el universo damasiano, se desenvuelven a partir de la entidad plástica e identidad personal del artista canario Pepe Dámaso (Agaete, 1933). Como un ciudadano más, aporta su talento a sus conciudadanos y a las personas que nos visitan, que pueden contemplar cada día las creaciones que están presentes en el espacio público y privado de las islas. Esta obra de carácter heterogéneo, está repartida por instituciones, lugares destinados a la cultura, hoteles, o zonas de esparcimiento entre otros ámbitos. Esta impronta demuestra el variado talante del artista premio Canarias de Bellas Artes 1996, que se nos muestra gracias a esta intervención artística, un constante diálogo con la ciudadanía. Es por tanto, el artista ante sus conciudadanos.

The islands, the space and the Damasian universe are developed from the plastic entity and personal identity of the canarian artist Pepe Dámaso (Agaete, 1933). He shares his talent other citizen, to his fellow citizens and to the people who visit us, who can contemplated every day the creations that are present in the public and private spaces of the islands. This work of a heterogeneous nature, is distributed throughout institutions, cultural venues, hotels and leisure areas, among other areas. This imprint demonstrates the varied mood of the artist, winner of the 1996 Canary Islands Fine Arts Prize, who shows us, thanks to this artistic intervention, a constant dialogue with the public. He is therefore the artist before his fellow citizens.
