Resumen

La historia de la cultura en general en el mundo ha sido cómplice de la invisibilización de los aportes realizados por féminas, y en algunos países es más significativo. En los libros de texto de escuelas y universidades se omiten o silencian hechos literarios, científicos u otros realizados por ellas que han marcado hitos en el desarrollo social a nivel local, regional, nacional o mundial. En síntesis apretada, este artículo aborda aspectos significativos de la vida de Leonor Pérez Cabrera, María Miranda Ribero y Cesarina Bento Montesino, tres mujeres canarias emigrantes en el siglo XIX, que supieron romper esquemas patriarcales, adelantarse a su época y dejar su impronta en la sociedad cubana. Desgraciadamente, en las Canarias solo se conoce algo de Leonor Pérez, y de las otras dos, bien poco o nada.

The history of culture in general in the world has been complicit in the invisibility of the contributions made by women, and in some countries, this is even more significant. School and university textbooks omit or silence literary, scientific, or other facts made by women that have marked milestones in social development at the local, regional, national or world level. In a summary, this article deals with significant aspects of the lives of Leonor Pérez Cabrera, María Miranda Ribero and Cesarina Bento Montesino, three Canary Island women emigrants in the 19th century, who were able to break patriarchal schemes, to be ahead of their time and to leave their mark on Cuban society. Unfortunately, in the Canary Islands only a little is known about Leonor Perez, and of the other two, little or nothing.
