Mujeres-lengua de la Conquista del Caribe y las Islas Canarias: una mirada holística a su estela narrativa / Tongue-Women in the Conquest of the Caribbean and the Canary Islands: A Holistic Approach to their Narrative Trail

Resumen

En esta presentación iremos tras la impronta narrativa que han dejado en la memoria colectiva de sus respectivas tierras de origen y de vivencia las siguientes mujeres: Francisca de Gazmira (La Palma), Malinche (Veracruz) e India Catalina (Cartagena de Indias, Santo Domingo). Todas ellas tienen en común la «aboriginidad», así como la labor de mediación interlingüística e intercultural que desempeñaron entre su propio mundo autóctono y el del conquistador. Primeramente, analizaremos las miradas dualistas y polarizadas que se han ido vertiendo sobre estas mujeres en diversos constructos narrativos de la colectividad (historiográficos, identitarios, populares, literarios, cinematográficos, plásticos, turísticos, etc.). A continuación, se ofrecerá una re-visión en clave más integradora. Así, a través de un enfoque arquetípico-holístico, ahondaremos en los «superpoderes» de estas Sherezades del imperio macho-español, como son la resiliencia, la observación, la interpretación, la estrategia, y la consciencia de unidad.

In this presentation we will go after the narrative imprint that the following women have left in the collective memory of their respective lands of origin and experience: Francisca de Gazmira (La Palma), Malinche (Veracruz), and India Catalina (Cartagena de Indias, Santo Domingo). All of them have «aboriginality» in common, as well as the work of interlinguistic and intercultural mediation that they carried out between their own autochthonous world and that of the conqueror. Firstly, we will analyze the dualistic and polarized perspectives that have been cast on these women in various narrative communal constructs (historiographical, identitarian, popular, literary, cinematographic, plastic, touristic, etc.). Next, a more inclusive re-view will be offered. Thus, through an archetypal-holistic approach, we will delve into the «superpowers» of these Scheherazades of the macho-Spanish empire, such as resilience, observation, interpretation, strategy, and unity of consciousness.
