Resumen
La llegada de la prensa literaria a Cuba supuso un cambio paulatino en la sociedad al llegar acompañada de las ideas ilustradas que habían comenzado a abrirse camino en Europa y que, en España, se había luchado mediante la censura para evitar su propagación. Gracias a esta prensa se tiene una fuente historiográfica adecuada para conocer a la sociedad del territorio en el siglo XVIII.
The arrival of the literary press in Cuba brought about a gradual change in society as it was accompanied by the Enlightenment ideas that had begun to make their way in Europe and which, in Spain, had been fought through censorship to prevent their propagation. Thanks to this press, we have an adequate historiographical source for learning about society in the territory in the 18th century.
