Una cuestión de género: la aportación de la mujer en el estudio de la loza tradicional canaria / A Question of Gender: The Contribution of Women in the Study of Traditional Canarian Pottery
Resumen
En las publicaciones sobre la denominada «loza» tradicional o popular en las Islas Canarias, después de la Conquista europea, no han tenido mucha repercusión salvo algunos de los trabajos que han desarrollado diversas investigadoras desde finales del siglo XIX hasta la actualidad. Curiosamente esta alfarería ha sido elaborada y comercializada, eminentemente, por mujeres (las loceras), que además han sido las encargadas de su transmisión y perpetuación. El presente trabajo, que parte de la consulta y estudio de unas 121 referencias bibliográficas impresas y digitales de diversa índole, pretende acercar la importante huella que las investigadoras de este oficio han dejado en el panorama canario sobre esta artesanía isleña. Sobre todo reflexionando a partir de la premisa que la visión femenina de la alfarería canaria es, tal vez y bajo nuestro punto de vista, un tanto diferente a la que pueden haber efectuado algunos autores masculinos.
In the publications on the so-called traditional or popular "earthenware" in the Canary Islands, after the European Conquest, they have not had much repercussion except some of the work carried out by various women researchers from the end of the 19th century to the present. Curiously, this pottery has been elaborated and commercialized, eminently, by women (the loceras), who have also been in charge of its transmission and perpetuation. The present work, which is based on the consultation and study of some 121 printed and digital bibliographic references of various kinds, aims to bring closer the important mark that the researchers of this craft have left in the Canary Islands panorama on this island craft. Above all, reflecting on the premise that the female vision of Canary Island pottery is, perhaps and from our point of view, somewhat different from the one that may have been made by some male authors.
