Resumen

La presente investigación aborda parte de la realidad sociocultural del grupo indígena Wayuu, en lo referente a su idioma, costumbres, cosmovisión, espiritualidad, entre otros aspectos que se destacan, para evidenciar la influencia que dejó el conquistador al entrar en contacto con esta etnia, debido a que, desde el momento de su llegada, estos indígenas mantuvieron relaciones comerciales y cognoscitivas con los viajeros que iban llegando y, por ende, con sus elementos culturales.

The present investigation report aproaches the sociocultural reality of the indigenous group “Wayuu”, in what con-cerns in its language, customs, cosmovi-sion and spirituality among other aspects outlined. To demonstrate the influence that the conquerors had left to this etnia, due to that fact, from the moment of its arrival, indigenous have supported comercial and cognitive relations with the travelers who had come and there for with their cultural elements.
