Resumen

Uno de los principales ejes temáticos de la prensa localhistórica de Lanzarote y Fuerteventura ha sido ladefensa de los que se consideraban como interesesinsulares legítimos frente a la preponderancia de lasislas capitalinas de Canarias. Esta comunicaciónaborda el estudio de los discursos que sobre esteámbito se realizaron desde la prensa editada en estasislas hasta 1982. La finalidad es conocer lasprincipales líneas de opinión y los apoyosargumentales que se han sostenido respecto a estetema. Nuestros objetivos y metodologías no se refierena la historia política sino a la historia de lacomunicación social y, más concretamente, a unalectura de las corrientes de opinión y las dialécticasempleadas.

One of the main themes of the historic local press ofLanzarote and Fuerteventura has been the defense of itwas considerated as legitimate insularist interestsagainst the preponderance of the main islands of theCanaries. This paper deals with the study of thespeeches that were made on the field from the press onthese islands until 1982. The aim is to identify themain lines of opinion and argument supports that havebeen held on this issue. Our objectives andmethodologies are not about political history but to thehistory of social communications and morespecifically, to a reading of the currents of opinion andthe dialectics employed.
