Nuevas aportaciones a los procesos de tinción en época aborigen en las Islas Canarias / New contributions to the processes of dyeing in aboriginal time in the Canary islands

Resumen

En anteriores ediciones de estos mismos Coloquios examinamos los distintos recursos tintóreos en el pasado aborigen. Presentamos a la comunidad científica los primeros resultados de los experimentos destinados a reconstruir las técnicas que harían posible los procesos de tinción e igualmente abordamos la problemática existente a la hora de realizar dicha reconstrucción. A partir de los éxitos y los errores anteriores pensamos —en esta ocasión— centrar el objetivo de nuestra propuesta en la exposición de los resultados de las nuevas pruebas tintóreas que hemos realizado. Las crónicas y relatos de la Conquista son verdaderamente parcos en este tipo de datos pero pese a ello, y aunque en un primer momento concentramos nuestra atención en la isla de Gran Canaria para la que existe un mayor número de referencias, decidimos ampliar nuestro trabajo inicial a otras islas.

In previous editions of these Seminars we examined the different dyeing resources of the aboriginal past. In those seminars we showed to the scientific community the first results of the experiments destined to rebuild the techniques and processes that would make possible the process of staining. Also our approach to the problems, that exist were to be able to rebuild such a reconstruction whether it was in those related aspects of the natural, which of course is completely alien to the research, or whether it was the particular difficulties of the material aspects of the investigation. From previous successes and errors, we think, on this occasion, that we should focus the objective of our proposal in the presentation of the results of the new dye tests we have done. The chronicles and tales of The Conquest are really limited to this kind of data in spite of this, and although initially we focused our attention on the island of Gran Canaria for which exists a greater number of references, we decided to extend our initial work into other islands.
