Resumen

Anserma, Cartago y Antioquia son tres ciudades del actual centro occidente colombiano fundadas por Jorge Robledo en un corto periplo de conquista entre 1539 a 1541. El propósito inicial de estas fundaciones fue el de pacificar los territorios de la cuenca media del río Cauca donde se encontraron pueblos aborígenes con oro. Sin embargo, al poco tiempo a tal propósito debió sumársele el de la necesidad de hacer presencia en una zona que parecía ser neurálgica por la puja de poderes que se suscitó en ella en razón a su dominio y definición de jurisdicciones. Esta ponencia pretende introducirse en el estudio del establecimiento de dichas jurisdicciones, con la finalidad de que permita observar el impacto -o continuidad- que tendrá en la conformación de fronteras regionales del periodo republicano.

Anserma, Cartago and Antioquia are three cities the current central western Colombia founded by Jorge Robledo on a short journey of conquest between 1539 to 1541. The main purpose of these foundations was to pacify the middle basin of the Cauca river, where the Spanish peoples met indians with gold. However, soon it appeared another aim for the three cities, make presence in the area to establish a jurisdiction that was disputed by other groups of Spanish. This paper aims to introduce the study of the establishment of these jurisdictions in order to notice the impact -or continuity- that will have on the formation of regional borders of the republican period.
