The myth of St. Avitus’s preaching in the Islands was always argued by the Canarian historiography during Modern Age. This supposed historical event ended disfigured and unrecognisable because it was a victim of the Spanish falsifier historians. So historiography abandoned the idea of St. Avitus martyr’s existence and also his presence in the islands like an untestable fact. However, returning to the sources, we could talk about a norman crusader in the islands in the early 12th century, long before the norman presence in the islands that is known by all.
