Resumen

El nombramiento de «fieles ejecutores» fue causa de frecuentes litigios en los concejos castellanos de la Baja Edad Media e inicio de la Modernidad. En la isla de La Palma estos enfrentamientos comenzaron desde principios del siglo XVI, se agudizaron en la segunda mitad de la centuria con la venta de oficios y no concluyeron hasta finales de siglo, tras largos conflictos en la Real Audiencia de Canarias. A través de la documentación del Archivo General de Simancas en la Sección Consejo Real y de documentación custodiada en Canarias hemos seguido estos litigios a lo largo del siglo XVI. / The naming of the Inspectors of Weights and Measures caused many lawsuits in the local councils under the Crown of Castille in the late Middle Ages and the beginnings of the modern era. In La Palma these confrontations began as early as the beginning of the XVI century, worsened in the second half of the century because of the assignment of these positions for money, and did not finish until the end of the century after long drawn out battles in the Royal Court of Justice of the Canaries. Using documents in the General Archive of Simancas, in the section of the Royal Council, and documents archived in the Canaries, we have studied these lawsuits during the whole of the XVI century.
