Resumen

Durante los últimos años, el cálculo del producto bruto agropecuario de la España moderna ha llamado la atención de los historiadores económicos. Intentan medir esta macromagnitud mediante diversas fuentes; entre ellas, cabe destacar el diezmo y las estadísticas agropecuarias. Este artículo sostiene que los autores de las estadísticas utilizaron como fuente principal para su estudio aquel impuesto y discute el modo en que realizaron sus cálculos en el caso de la producción vinícola. Este texto trata, pues, de aclarar el significado y alcance de un procedimiento estadístico que podría ayudarnos en la construcción del producto bruto agropecuario para otros periodos de la historia moderna hispana.

During the last years, the calculation of the farming gross product of modern Spain has attracted the attention of the economic historians. They try to calculate this macromagnitude through several sources; among them, it is possible to emphasize the tithe and the farming statistics. This article supports that the authors of the statistics used as main source for their study that tax and discusses the way in that they made his calculations in the case of the wine production. This text tries, then, to clarify the meaning and implications of a statistical procedure that could help us in the construction of the farming gross product for other periods of Hispanic modern history.
