Entre Agosto y Octubre de 1910, Galdós escribe Amadeo I, Episodio Nacional donde recoge, recuerda y fabula sobre los acontecimientos ocurridos durante el reinado del Monarca venido de Italia, Amadeo de Saboya, que reinó en España entre los años 1871 y 1873.
En este episodio—uno de los últimos escritos—, Don Benito recupera dos figuras femeninas que tuvieron gran importancia en los movimientos políticos de esos años y a las que seguramente conoció: Modesta Periú y Guillermina Rojas. En este trabajo analizaremos sus actividades políticas progresistas, muy difíciles e incomprendidas en su tiempo, pero que abrieron caminos a la incorporación de la mujer al espacio público. / Galdós wrote Amadeo I between August and October 1910. In this Episodio nacional Don Benito gathered, recalled and wrote about the events that transpired during the reign of the Amadeo de Saboya, the monarch who came from Italy and ruled in Spain between 1871 and 1873.
In this, one of the last of the episodios, Don Benito reclaimed two famale figures who were very important in the political movements during those years andwhom he surely knew personally: Modesta Periú and Guillermina Rojas. In this study we will analyze the progressive political activities of these two distinctive women, activities that were very difficult and misunderstood at the time, but that opened roads for the participation of women in the public sphere.
