Resumen

La revista Vida Nueva fue una de las cabeceras más importantes en el fin de siglo. La presencia de Galdós en ella se dio diversas maneras: los fundadores de la misma le escribieron para que diera su aquiescencia como colaborador. En ella publicaron frecuentes textos galdosianos, críticas literarias a sus textos. Se batieron en polémicas a favor de Galdós e incluyeron textos con análisis de su modo de escribir. En el folletín de la revista rescataron el texto galdosiano “Las generaciones artísticas en la ciudad de Toledo”. El propósito de este texto es doble: se busca mostrar el importante papel que jugó Galdós en la génesis y evolución de la cabecera Vida Nueva (1898-1900) y, en segundo lugar, se trata de presentar cómo esa cabecera —considerada de forma unánime por la crítica como un adalid del modernismo— guardaba un respeto y tenía ya a Galdós por maestro transgeneracional. / Vida Nueva was one of the most important newspapers at the end of the century. The presence of Galdos in it took several forms: the founders of it wrote to him to give his acquiescence as a collaborator. In her they published frequent galdosianos texts, literary critics to their texts. They fought in controversies in favor of Galdós and included texts with analysis of his way of writing. They rescued the Galdosian text “The artistic generations in the city of Toledo”. The purpose of this text is twofold: it seeks to show the important role played by Galdós in the genesis and evolution of Vida Nueva (1898-1900) and, secondly, to present how that header —considered unanimously by criticism as a champion of modernism— he had a respect and already had Galdos as a transgenerational teacher.
