PRESENCIA DE GALDÓS EN LA LITERATURA POSTERIOR / PRESENCE OF GALDÓS IN THE LATER

Resumen

En esta comunicación pretendemos reivindicar la figura de Benito Pérez Galdós, debido a la importancia y a la vigencia de su obra que continúa siendo referencia y fuente de inspiración de algunos escritores posteriores a él, tanto del siglo XX como del XXI. Veremos cómo en obras de reciente publicación aparecen mencionados algunos de sus personajes, cómo el propio Galdós también lo es en autores canarios que tuvieron la oportunidad de conocerle personalmente o cómo el género narrativo que él creó —los Episodios Nacionales— es cultivado en el presente. Tendremos, además, la oportunidad de recordar las palabras de algunos escritores contemporáneos que reconocen su deuda para con el ilustre escritor grancanario y analizaremos dos interesantes proyectos muy relacionados con su obra llevados a la práctica, uno en el ámbito canario y otro en el nacional. / This paper aims at vindicating the figure of Benito Pérez Galdós, because of his importance and the validity of his work which continues being reference and source of inspiration of some writers of the 20th and 21st centuries. We will see how some of his characters are mentioned in recent works, how the own Galdós is also mentioned by canary authors who had the opportunity to know him personally and how the narrative genre that he created —the Episodios Nacionales— is written at this time. We will have the opportunity to remember the words of some modern writers who admit a debt with this distinguished writer from Gran Canaria and analyze two interesting projects related to his work put into practice in both areas: the canary and the national.
