Resumen

Se ha venido investigando con gran acierto la influencia de Honoré de Balzac en la formación de Galdós como narrador moderno, estudios que forman la base de mi trabajo de hoy. Intento aquí ampliar el campo de investigación al tema examinando diversos aspectos que aún no han sido abordados por la crítica. Analizo cómo contribuyeron sus visitas a París a renovar su ideario, el progresivo abandono de las ideas abstractas, que aprendió en su Las Palmas nativo. París le reveló un mundo lleno de imágenes, de reproducciones, de cuadros, además de la vida vista por las calles y representada en las páginas de Balzac. Acabará por aprender la lección última ofrecida por lo cotidiano, que el presente siempre resulta imperfecto. / Several researchers of Galdós´s oeuvre have studied the influence of the novels of Honoré de Balzac in the Canarian author. Especially, how his books helped him become a modern novelist. Building upon this research, I have tried in this paper to widen the field of inquiry, examining certain aspects not touched upon to this day. I analyse how his visits to Paris help him to abandon his system of abstract ideas, learned as a young man in his native Las Palmas. Paris open his eyes to a world full of images, reproductions, paintings, plus all the reality lived in the streets, and represented in the pages of Balzac. He learned the ultimate lesson offered by the quotidian, the present is always imperfect.
