ARTÍCULOS DE GALDÓS EN LA PRENSA DE BUENOS AIRES: CRÓNICAS DE SU VIAJE POR EUROPA EN 18871 / ARTICLES BY GALDÓS IN LA PRENSA DE BUENOS AIRES: CHRONICLES OF HIS JOURNEY THROUGH EUROPE IN 1887

Resumen

Pérez Galdós escribió una serie de artículos para el diario bonaerense La prensa en los que abordaba temas diversos —política, sociedad, literatura, cultura—, llegando a publicar, incluso, fragmentos de relatos. Entre esos artículos, recogidos en 1973 por William H. Shoemaker en el volumen Las cartas desconocidas de Galdós en La Prensa de Buenos Aires, encontramos una serie de crónicas, fechadas en 1887, relativas a un viaje por Centroeuropa, en el curso del cual recorre Alemania, Holanda y Dinamarca. El objetivo de este trabajo es recuperar esos textos, estudiarlos en su contexto, como crónicas periodísticas, pero también bajo el prisma del género de viajes, analizando qué elementos propios del relato de viajes se encuentran presentes en ellos. / Between December 1883 and March 1894, Benito Pérez Galdós wrote some articles for the Buenos Aires newspaper La Prensa about various topics —politics, society, literature, culture—, even publishing fragments of stories. Among those articles, collected in 1973 by William H. Shoemaker in Las cartas desconocidas de Galdós en La Prensa de Buenos Aires, we find a series of chronicles, dated 1887, relating to a trip through Central Europe, during which he traveled Germany, Holland and Denmark. The objective of this work is to recover these texts, to study them as journalistic chronicles, but also from the perspective of the travel genre, analyzing which elements of the travel writing are present in them.
