GALDÓS, ¿PIONERO EN LA «NOVELA DE FERROCARRIL» EN ESPAÑA? / GALDÓS, PIONEER IN THE «RAILWAY NOVEL» IN SPAIN?

Resumen

En el siglo XIX, en cada país surgieron como subgénero nuevo los relatos literarios que trataban de los viajes en ferrocarril de varias maneras. En el presente artículo trataremos de dilucidar quién fue el pionero en este tipo de novelas en España, considerando las obras Desde mi celda (1864) de Bécquer y Rosalía (1872) de Galdós, que fueron las primeras que trataban sobre viajes en ferrocarril. Anotaremos los rasgos destacados de ambas obras y mostraremos la diferencia decisiva que nos permita aclarar la base estética de cada autor a la hora de narrar un viaje ferroviario. / In the 19th century, in each country the literary stories concerned with the railway journeys in different ways appeared as a new subgenre. In this article I’ll elucidate who was the pioneer in this type of novels in Spain, considering the works Desde mi celda (1864) of Bécquer and Rosalía (1872) of Galdós. After recording the distinguished features of both works, I’ll bring to light the decisive difference, which gets to clarify the aesthetic base of each author when they tell a railway journey.
