LAS FÓRMULAS SUPERLATIVAS EN LAS NOVELAS DE TORQUEMADA DE GALDÓS / SUPERLATIVE FORMULAS IN THE TORQUEMADA SERIES OF GALDOS

Resumen

El objetivo de esta comunicación es analizar las fórmulas superlativas en las novelas de la serie de Torquemada. En primer lugar, haremos una búsqueda cuantitativa para comprobar sus usos en dichas novelas. Hallamos diversas fórmulas como el uso de harto, -ísimo, muy, bien y los prefijos superlativos. La peculiaridad de Galdós es la ingente creatividad con el uso de los prefijos requete-, archi-, re-, ultra-, extra- y sobre- con palabras como requetefina, sobredorada… Por otro lado, según Serradilla (2004, 2008), las diferentes fórmulas superlativas se emplean en distintos ámbitos sociales. Y hemos localizado el personaje en el que pronuncia cierta fórmula superlativa para determinar su carácter social, comprobando que se encuentran casos del prefijo re- pronunciados por farmacéutico, buñolera..., mostrando la creatividad de Galdós hasta las combinaciones entre diferentes intensificadores (muy rebonitas, muy requetedamas).

The aim of this paper is to analyze the superlative formulas in the novels of the series of Torquemada. First, we will do a search to check quantitative uses in these novels. We found different formulas and the use of harto, -ísimo, muy, bien, and superlative prefixes. The peculiarity of Galdos is the enormous creativity with the use of the prefixes requete-, archi-, re-, ultra-, extra- and sobre- with words like requetefina, sobredorada... On the other hand, according Serradilla (2004, 2008), different superlative formulas used in different social settings. And we located the character that pronounces some superlative formula to determine its social character, we have found that the cases of prefix re- are used by pharmacist, bunolero …, showing the creativity of Galdos to the combinations between different superlatives (Muy rebonitas, muy requetedamas).
