Este artículo pretende analizar cómo fue la recepción de la figura y la obra de Galdós entre algunos de los autores de las Islas Canarias que participaron de las literaturas de vanguardia, durante los años 20 y 30 (Claudio de la Torre, Domingo Pérez Minik, Eduardo Westerdahl, Pedro García Cabrera y Agustín Espinosa), así como en el 10º manifiesto de Gaceta de Arte. Dichas menciones abarcan también todo el marco temporal de sus vidas, puesto que la mayoría de estos autores escribió sobre Galdós después de la Guerra Civil española. Se verá que existió una notable admiración que, en la mayoría de los casos, se acentúa después de la guerra. En este artículo, además del recorrido por esta recepción, muy destacado en los casos de Claudio de la Torre y de Domingo Pérez Minik, se aporta un breve texto inédito de García Cabrera (“Insularismo de Galdós”), de singular importancia en todo este escenario.
This article aims to analyze how the reception of the figure and work of Galdós took place among some of the authors of Canary Islands who participated in the avant-garde literature during the 1920s and 1930s (Claudio de la Torre, Domingo Pérez Minik, Eduardo Westerdahl, Pedro García Cabrera and Agustín Espinosa) and in the 10th manifesto of Gaceta de Arte. These references also cover the entire time frame of their lives, since most of these authors wrote about Galdós after the Spanish Civil War. It will be seen that there was a considerable admiration that, in most cases, is emphasized after the war. In this article, in addition to the process of running through this reception, very prominent in the cases of Claudio de la Torre and Domingo Pérez Minik, an unpublished short text by García Cabrera (“Insularismo De Galdós”) is provided, of particular importance throughout this scenario.
